Clayton Kershaw has been so good so far this season. The Dodgers ace is looking as good as ever in his 16th season in the show. He's among the leaders in baseball in...

  • Wins: 5 (t-1st in MLB)
  • ERA: 1.89 (8th in MLB, 4th in NL)
  • IP: 38 (4th in MLB, 1st in NL)
  • WHIP: .760 (3rd in MLB, 1st in NL)
  • Ks: 41 (11th in MLB, t-4th in NL)

The funny thing about that win total is that it's as many as the Oakland Athletics this season. Yes, Kershaw is tied with an entire baseball team in wins.

That might not be as much about Clayton's continued greatness as it is about the A's terribleness which, in this case, is a real word. The A's have been in the news of late amid headlines of the team moving to Las Vegas. Fans have come out in force to protest the move and team ownership, demanding that principal owner John Fisher sell the team.

It continues a trend of being bad for the A's who lost 102 games last season after trading away another group of talented players.

Back to Kershaw, it's not surprising that Clayton has been good this year -- that's what Hall of Famers do. What is shocking, however, is that one pitcher can have as many wins as an entire baseball team one month into the baseball season.

“Tonight was his best [of the season] for me as far as stuff from start to finish," Dave Roberts said after Saturday night's win. "I thought his fastball glove-side, arm-side, the lateness of the curveball was as good as I’ve seen. The slider … the way he tunneled [pitches] was exceptional. That’s as good a team as you’re going to see against left-handed pitching, and the way he dominated those guys was impressive.”
