Some strong praise for Roberts.

As the Los Angeles Dodgers get set to begin their 2024 regular season when they take on the San Diego Padres Wednesday in the Seoul Series, Dodgers president Andrew Friedman is confident in manager Dave Roberts.

With Roberts heading into his ninth season as the Dodgers' manager, Friedman explained what makes Roberts a good manager for the team while speaking to Doug McKain of dodgersnation.com.

"Just consistency. Communication, consistency. He brings so much energy into our clubhouse, into our dugout and I think he has that respect for the players and the players have that respect for him. And I think he does a great job of putting guys into positions to succeed, which in turn they appreciate and makes for a really good dynamic."

Though Roberts has been criticized for only leading the team to one World Series win and some of the team's early playoff exits, Friedman made it clear Roberts is still respected amongst the team. Of course, the critics will not be silenced unless the Dodgers bring home at least another trophy.

While the Dodgers would love to bring home more World Series trophies, they've been quite successful under Roberts. Roberts has a .630 winning percentage with the team, and they've only had winning seasons with him at the helm.

In every year outside of the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, Roberts has led the team to at least 90 wins. Under Roberts, the Dodgers have won seven out of eight possible division titles, and continue to acquire some of the top talent in baseball.

Following a billion dollar offseason, there's definitely a little more pressure on Roberts to get to the finish line this season. But he has the full support of his front office as he enters this 2024 campaign.
