Dave Roberts Opens Up About Future as Dodgers Manager
As the Dodgers enter into one of the more important seasons in franchise history, many can't help but wonder where the blame will lie if they fail to meet expectations. Naturally, it will likely land at the feet of manager Dave Roberts, who has been heavily criticized in the past.
Whether the criticism of Roberts previously has been fair or not, he will take the brunt of the blame if the team underperforms. The front office has done everything they can to build a superteam, so it will lie with how Roberts manages everything.
His job has been called into question in the past, and the narratives will only grow louder this year.
Roberts opened up about his goals for the future with the team, saying that he would love to stay with the Dodgers forever.
“I would love to stay here forever,” he says. “I played for this organization, I care for this organization, I love the players, I’ve invested a lot of time and care into the players, I can’t predict the future but for me to wear one uniform as a manager, that would be a dream.”

If the Dodgers meet their goals of winning the World Series this season, or at worst, making the World Series, Roberts will surely be around for a while. He is a good manager, who has the support of the players on the team.
He brings major energy with him whenever he speaks, and it's been great to see his growth over the years. While the Dodgers got swept in the postseason last year, 2023 was arguably the best season by Roberts as the manager.
The veteran is now stepping into somewhat new territory, but it's been title or bust for him since he took over. Los Angeles is a city that runs on winning, and Roberts is no stranger to it.
