Dave Roberts Reveals Likely Dodgers Starters For Games in Korea
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed that Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow will likely start for the Dodgers's first two regular season games in Seoul, Korea.
When asked if Yamamoto would be starting one of the two games, Roberts seemed to confirm the possibility.
"I think that’s a safe bet.”
Assuming Yamamoto does indeed start one of these two opening games in Korea, it will be his official MLB debut. Yamamoto has spent his entire professional baseball career to this point with the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball until he signed a 12-year, $325 million contract with the Dodgers in December.
As a pitcher, Yamamoto has a career 1.82 ERA and was a three-time Pacific League MVP in NPB.
Glasnow will be making a debut of his own, as this would be his first career start for the Dodgers. Glasnow was traded alongside Manuel Margot to the Dodgers in December in exchange for Ryan Pepiot and Jonny DeLuca. He signed a five-year, $136.5 million extension upon joining the Dodgers.
Glasnow joins the Dodgers after posting a 10-7 record and 3.53 ERA in 2023 with the Tampa Bay Rays.
