In this story:

Dodgers All-Star J.D. Martinez was set to face off against one of his former teams on Tuesday when he was announced as part of LA's initial lineup.

In an updated lineup, the All-Star designated hitter was nowhere to be found for the Dodgers.

Despite playing over the weekend against the Padres, Martinez avoided an IL stint with an earlier hamstring injury toward the end of July.

It seems like just an hour ahead of first pitch, Martinez's hamstring wasn't good enough to go tonight with pre-game warmups.

Though it looks as he's staying off the IL for now, such a lingering issue this late into the season can't be good for the resurgent slugger.

In his lone season with LA, Martinez has solidified the DH role and powered the Dodgers offense to heights unseen.

We can only hope this injury won't be something that hampers him and the team for long.

On Tuesday, Kikè Hernández joined the Dodgers lineup in Martinez's place, while Max Muncy shifted over to the DH spot.
