Dodgers Announce Roster Moves Ahead of Series with Padres

The Dodgers are finally fully-loaded.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced a slew of roster moves dating back to Thursday's off day ahead of Friday's series opener against the Padres.

On Friday, the team officially activated designated hitter J.D. Martinez off the 10-day injured list. Martinez had been out for over two weeks with back issues, but he's finally healthy and should be back in the lineup as soon as Friday.

With Martinez back, though, the Dodgers needed to make room on the active roster. Despite fans wanting to see Trayce Thompson go, it was rookie infielder Michael Busch who got optioned to Triple-A. This move doesn't come as a surprise at all, but it did make some fans unhappy.

The Dodgers have activated DH J.D. Martinez off the 10-day injured list, per the team’s transaction log.

To make room for him on the active roster, the team optioned INF Michael Busch to Triple-A.

Additionally, RHP Wander Suero was optioned to Triple-A.

The Dodgers also optioned RHP Wander Suero to Triple-A. Suero struggled in his three appearances with the Dodgers, resulting in a pretty short stay in the major leagues.

On Friday, the corresponding move to the Suero option was revealed, as LHP Caleb Ferguson was officially activated off the paternity list. Ferguson missed the series in Milwaukee for the birth of his son, and will now be back in the Dodgers bullpen for the weekend series against San Diego. This is officially as healthy and fully loaded as the Dodgers have been all year long. The lineup looks as it was supposed to when the season began, and the rotation is even healthier now that RHP Tony Gonsolin is back.

The Dodgers, winners of 10 of their last 12, are getting hot, and are now welcoming back their designated hitter who was starting to hit the ball well before going on the IL.

Things are looking up for the Dodgers, and it couldn't come at a better time, as they look to win another series against the division-rival Padres this weekend.
