Dodgers Fans Have Very Much Not Enjoyed Listening to Bob Costas

Dodgers fans are not happy having to listen to veteran sports broadcaster Bob Costas on TBS's play by play.
In this story:

Over the last few days, we've all talked about and thought about all the things going wrong with the Dodgers who now sit in an unfortunate win-or-go-home scenario as they approach NLDS Game 3. But, in an effort to take some attention away from the team while still complaining about something, it's time to take a couple minutes to talk about the TBS broadcast team and, mainly, legendary sportscaster Bob Costas.

The Dodgers seemingly drew the short straw with the play-by-play team covering this division series with Costas and Ron Darling who have combined to not only call an overall flat broadcast over the first two games of the series, but often the duo has been factually inaccurate with their... well, facts.

Two such sequences both involved LA slugger Max Muncy who Costas said had some great seasons with the Oakland A's before joining the Dodgers and at one point added that Muncy was known for his defense. At another point in time, Costas pulled a gem from his memory banks about Dodger pitching coach Mark Prior asking the audience to "remember how good he was back in the 1990s with Cubs."

Prior made his major league debut in 2002.

This isn't all isn't news to baseball fans. If you ask Diamondbacks faithful, they'll say he sounds disappointed every time Arizona has done well in the series. Last year he was so badly criticised over his game calling, Costas actually addressed how bad he was in an interview with Bill Maher.

Dodgers Fans Sound Off

Folks on Twitter certainly seem to agree with the 71-year-old Costas maybe not being the best at his job these days.

There is no doubt that Bob Costas is an absolute legend in sports broadcasting. But maybe his best days in baseball are decades behind him. Still, for as bad as he is these days, Dodgers fans certainly hope they get to hear his ill-informed and overall flat play by play for three more games and three wins en route to an NLCS berth.
