Dodgers Fans React to the Julio Urias News
Despite it being an off day for the Dodgers, the organization found itself in unfortunate national headlines after a report broke saying starting pitcher Julio Urias had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. After starting opening day for the Dodgers in 2023, his season -- and possibly Dodger career -- appears headed for an unceremonious end.
The reactions to the news came en masse on Monday. We'll warn ahead of time that any commentary that are negative toward the victim will not be shown or tolerated on this site.
Reactions ranged from shocked to disgusted to frustrated and everything in between. A sizeable and vocal group of commenters hope to never see Urias on their team again after his second domestic violence arrest in four years.
Legendary LA columnist Bill Plaschke offered up a scathing commentary on Urias and the Dodgers for this latest DV issue. In a poll by Dodgers Nation on X, an overwhelming majority of voters agreed with Plaschke that Urias should never pitch for the franchise again.
More details will be forthcoming, but, rumors are surfacing that reportedly show the incident was horrifying. MLB, the Dodgers, and local law enforcement will continue their investigations. Urias will be placed on administrative leave on Tuesday and faces a court date on September 7th.
