Dodgers GM Provides Positive Injury Updates on Walker Buehler, Gavin Lux
Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes provided injury updates on multiple players that the team should be getting back for the 2024 season. LA missed multiple players last season that they were expecting to count on but couldn't due to injury.
The first was for starting pitcher Walker Buehler who missed the entire year while recovering from Tommy John Surgery.
"Walker Buehler, who had a second Tommy John surgery in Aug. 2022, is progressing as the team would hope, and is “throwing and feeling well.”

Getting Buehler back should help bolster the Dodgers rotation next season, and he will give them another strong arm to rely upon. While the team can't fully trust that he will be the same pitcher as he once was, LA is confident in his ability to still perform at a high level.
There was some talk about Buehler returning toward the end of this past season, but he shut himself down since there wasn't enough time to fully get back to playing shape before the postseason. His return to the mound will be a welcomed sight for all Dodgers fans.
Gomes also provided an outlook on injured infielder Gavin Lux. Lux was injured during Spring Training and missed the entire year with a torn ACL in his right knee.
“Our thought is that he’s going to be our shortstop,” Gomes said. “And the benefit is that you have somebody like (Miguel Rojas) behind him who will be an incredibly high bar.”

Lux will be a solid addition to the Dodgers lineup, and the team believes that he can come back to full strength. In 2022, he hit .276 with six home runs and 42 runs batted in over 129 games.
This will be his first full season as the full-time shortstop, and LA is very excited to see what Lux can do. Both updates bode well for the Dodgers next season, and they should be getting back two very good contributors to the roster.
