Dodgers Highlights: Rojas Powers LA to Win, Miller Battles

The Dodgers supported Bobby Miller.

On a picturesque Friday night at T-Mobile Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Seattle Mariners 6-to-3. The magic number for the Dodgers to clinch the National League Western Division is down to 2.

To lead off the game, Mookie Betts walked, Max Muncy walked, but the Dodgers stranded both.

Bobby Miller made it out of the first but struggled with his command. In the third, he dominated the Mariners.

In the third, Betts singled but was erased with a double play hit into by Freddie Freeman.

In the fourth, Miller allowed a solo home run.

Jason Heyward opened the fifth with a single and scored on Miguel Rojas’ fourth home run.

Rojas is hitting .359 with a .918 OPS in the month of September.

In the sixth, Will Smith was hit on the forearm and scored on a Max Muncy triple, his first of the season. It was Muncy's 99th RBI of the year, a new career high for the slugger. J.D. Martinez singled in Muncy one batter later.

In the sixth, Miller got into a bit of trouble allowing an RBI single, and another run scored on a double play. Dave Roberts relieved Miller with Caleb Ferguson who got out of the inning with a strikeout. Ferguson got one out in the seventh. Brusdar Graterol got out of the seventh without allowing anything.

Miller was frequently in trouble during his 5.2 innings but struck out 7 while walking 2 and throwing 91 pitches.

In the eighth, after being hit by a pitch, Freeman stole his 19th base and went to third on a throwing error. Martinez singled in Freeman in the eighth.

Ryan Brasier pitched a scoreless eighth inning.

James Outman blasted his 20th home run in the ninth, becoming the 10th Dodger rookie to reach the 20 home run mark.

Evan Phillips struggled but earned his 23rd save of the season. Bobby Miller picked up his 10th win of the year, becoming the first Dodger rookie to hit double digits since Kenta Maeda in 2016.
