Dodgers Injury News: Chris Taylor Provides Positive Update Following Hit by Pitch
The Dodgers seemed to avoid injury on Sunday afternoon after utilityman Chris Taylor left the game against the San Francisco Giants after being hit by a pitch on his knee. Luckily, the X-rays were negative, and LA avoided an injury in a meaningless game.
Taylor provided an update after the game, and he should be good for the start of the postseason in a few days.
“It feels not that bad,” Taylor said after the game. “It was one of those ‘dead-leg’ things. Honestly, I felt I could stay in the game but they wanted to get ahead of the swelling, get X-rays and everything. It’s all good.”

Anytime a player gets injured, it’s an unfortunate part of the game. But when it happens in a meaningless game before the playoffs begin, it’s even more frustrating, so thankfully Taylor should be fine.
LA is going to need him in the postseason, even if his bat hasn’t been up to par this year. He is hitting .237 with 15 home runs and 56 runs batted in for the season. It has been a down year for Taylor, but he has stayed professional throughout and is always ready to go whenever his name is called.
The Dodgers will await the winner between the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks to know their NLDS opponent. They earned a first-round bye for the second consecutive season and get the luxury of five days off before their first game on Saturday at Dodger Stadium.
“An end of the year, ‘Good job, guys. Now get ready for the postseason,’” Mookie Betts said of the meeting. “I don’t think there was any importance to it. Just a team meeting saying good job.”

LA won 100 games this season, which was especially impressive considering that they were supposed to be taking a step back. In a way they did in 2022, winning 11 fewer games, but they also did overperform most people’s expectations for themselves.
They enter the postseason as one of the better teams in the league, and they know that they have a good shot to win it all. If they show up and play their game, they will be a tough out this year.
