Dodgers Injury News: LA Will Be Getting Reinforcements Back Soon
Clayton Kershaw, Noah Syndergaard, and Trayce Thompson can return soon and reinforce the Dodgers.
Everyone in baseball knows the Dodgers need help for their starting rotation, but Kershaw and Syndergaard can provide it.
Before June 27th, Kershaw was among the best starters in baseball with a 10 and 4 record and 2.55 ERA. During his last start at Coors Field, his shoulder gave him some issues and was revealed to be inflammation. An MRI immediately before the All-Star break revealed something that Dr. Neal ElAttrache didn’t like and warned both the Dodgers and Kershaw to be cautious with the troublesome shoulder.
Kershaw swears his shoulder is fine, but he's erred on the side of caution.
The Dodgers postponed his most recent bullpen session from Monday to Tuesday because it lines up better with Kershaw’s return date.
Something doesn’t add up when the Dodgers desperately need starting rotation help.
On Noah Syndergaard, he made his second rehab start over the weekend and was good until he tried to pitch into the sixth inning. He will make his third appearance at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.
No one knows what the Dodgers will get when or if Syndergaard returns to the starting rotation. Before he went on the IL with a blister, he had 1 win and 4 losses with a 7.11 ERA. If Syndergaard would forget about velocity and pitch, he might be a savior to the Dodger starting rotation.
And lately, the forgotten Trayce Thompson is continuing his rehab in Arizona. In early June, he suffered an oblique strain and hasn’t played since. The Dodgers want a right-handed-hitting outfielder to combat their difficulties against left-handed pitching. If Thompson can recover and produce, he could be an answer for the Dodgers.
