Dodgers News: Amed Rosario Shares Secret to LA's Success with Acquired Players
One of the main moves the Dodgers made at the trade deadline was acquiring shortstop Amed Rosario from the Cleveland Guardians. They moved off pitcher Noah Syndergaard to get him, and so far, things have gone very well for the infielder.
While his batting average hasn’t been overly great, he has already made an impact with this team. Through 20 games with LA, he has 12 runs batted in compared to 40 over 94 games with Cleveland.
He was brought in to help deal with their hitting against lefties issues, and he spoke about the success of players such as himself who come to LA from other organizations.
“The vibe here is great,” Rosario said in Spanish when asked if he had a theory for the newcomers’ success. “I think that it also pushes you a little more when you’re around so many superstars. I think that the team that they’ve been having, it motivates you and makes you want to work more to get to the point where they are. You see the stars working and you learn, you pick up the little things.”

The Dodgers employ some of the best hitters in the game, and they give players a chance to find success. It’s one of the strengths of the organization and a reason why players love to play in Los Angeles.
Players like Rosario also get thrown right onto one of the best teams in baseball. This can be a motivating factor as well and helps boost confidence along the way.
Alongside Rosario, both pitcher Lance Lynn, reliever Ryan Yarbrough and utilityman Kiké Hernandez have seen increased success since joining the Dodgers at the trade deadline. It’s a testament to the overall ability of the franchise to elevate players' skill sets and has been great to see.
“It’s been a great change of scenery,” Hernández said, “to say the least.”

Many were skeptical that the Dodgers didn’t do enough at the deadline, but they have been proving all doubters wrong since. It has been impressive to see and should be fun to watch play out down the stretch of the year.
