Poised to set a new career high in home runs this season, Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts' slight adjustment to his approach in the box may be the reason why he's hitting as good as ever in 2023.

MLB Network detailed a subtle difference from Betts' 2022 swing that has contributed to better preparation for any pitch that may come his way.

Hitting three homers against the Marlins, Betts' offense helped the Dodgers win the final two games of their recent homestand.

Not only is he hitting for power lately, but in lieu of Freddie Freeman's slump for his own standards, Betts' leadoff hitting has put the Dodgers in consistent position to score runs in whatever inning he's up to bat.

With an average creeping up close to .300, it'd be his best season in that regard since joining the Dodgers in 2020 for a condensed 60-game stretch due to pandemic restrictions.

Though such individual success would be great, another MVP isn't Betts' main concern for this season.

Defeating fellow MVP winner Freddie Freeman in 2020 en route to his first ring with the Dodgers, Freeman and Betts want to finish the job this season and win it all for LA in 2023.

A record breaking season in win total for the regular season simply went up in smoke for LA against their divisional rival in the Padres in the NLDS last season.

No guarantees from Dave Roberts about winning it all this year have served the Dodgers well as team chemistry, veteran camaraderie and a resilience never seen before have made this roster like no other.

Betts' versatility not just hitting for power and average, but also fielding the middle infield on top of his Gold Glove post in right have certainly contributed this year and will continue to so in Dodger blue for years to come.
