There are plenty of one time Dodgers spread all across the league. But, along with the Boston Red Sox who currently have Justin Turner, Kenley Jansen, Enrique Hernandez, and Alex Verdugo on their roster, the Oakland Athletics are collecting their own set of the most random former Dodger names you can find.

After a recent waiver claim that brought them reliever Tayler Scott, there are now three of the more obscure Dodgers you can find all on the A's 40-man roster.

Let's revisit those three players real quick.

Tayler Scott

Scott signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers this past offseason and pitched really well in 19 games for the club at Triple-A before a rash of injuries forced the team to call him up to the big league roster. He allowed 6 runs over 6 appearances for LA before being optioned then designated for assignment in June. He found his way to Boston for a bit, so the Red Sox briefly added to their collection of previous Dodgers, but he was again DFA'd and picked up by the A's.

Ryan Noda

Noda is a name that will pain some hardcore prospect hugging Dodger fans. He came to the Dodgers from the Blue Jays in the Ross Stripling trade in 2020 and hit for big time power (55 home runs over two seasons) while getting on base at an elite clip. His big problem was likely viewed on the defensive side of the ball where he was limited to mostly first base and a little outfield.

With Max Muncy at first base then the signing of Freddie Freeman ahead of the 2022 season, the writing was on the wall for Noda. The Dodgers didn't protect him from the Rule 5 draft this past winter and the Oakland A's claimed him and have been playing him as their primary first baseman all season.

Sadly, he was just placed on the injured list after taking a baseball off the jaw in pregame warm ups this week. He'll miss a few weeks with a fractured jaw but should hopefully continue his nice debut season shortly. He's hit 29 extra base hits for the A's with a .794 OPS in 90 games this season.

Cody Thomas

It feels like the Cody Thomas era was not all that long ago but it's actually been more than three years since Thomas was the talk of spring training for the Dodgers. In 12 games before the world shut down in 2020, the outfield prospect hit .318 with 5 home runs and 11 RBI. He seemed at the time like he could be the next great option for the Dodgers at the big league level if an injury occurred in the outfield.

But, when covid shut down spring training, Thomas' hopes for a big season were crushed. He did make LA's 60 man roster and got in time at the alternate training site along with guys like Ryan Pepiot and Jacob Amaya, but he was never called up.

He was traded to the A's along with Adam Kolarek after the 2020 season for Sheldon Neuse and Gus Varland. In small sample sizes, Thomas has done well at the big league level and now figures to get a real chance at playing time with Noda sidelined.
