During another great start for the Dodgers rookie, Bobby Miller got into a war of words with his former minor league teammate Zach McKinstry.

In the second at-bat between the two, Miller threw a fastball that struck McKinstry in the shoulder, causing some profanity-laced jabs at one another and some questions to the righty pitcher about the encounter after the game.

“I don’t know. He tried to tell me that was twice. I missed inside on a pitch and hit him. Obviously it wasn’t on purpose, but I’m not here to make him feel comfortable in the box. So, that’s it.”

Though Miller may have got the last laugh on an individual level after freezing McKinstry looking on a nasty changeup to end the fifth inning, it was the Tigers who prevailed in the series finale at Dodger Stadium by a score of 4-2.

After striking out the side in the first inning, Miller struggled with his command all night, evidenced by both the hit by pitch toward McKinstry in the second inning and his first encounter that had an up and in pitch to the former Dodger.

It could have been a lot worse for the presumptive playoff starter as Miller ran into trouble in that aforementioned third inning.

Hitting McKinstry en route to eventually loading the bases with none out, Miller worked his way out of the jam with a spectacular diving grab in center made by James Outman saving at least two more Tigers crossing the plate.

Pitching six innings with two runs given up, Miller did all he could for the win, but the Dodger bats aside from Max Muncy fell silent all night.

Even with the division locked up, Miller's lack of run support is a tad concerning, but the Dodgers will hope to pick him up in his next and final start of the regular season.
