Bobby Miller made his MLB pitching debut in front of one of the toughest crowds in baseball against one of the toughest teams in baseball. Against the Atlanta Braves, Miller took a breath and his first pitch in the big leagues was a sinker that resulted in a grounder that was easily fielded by Max Muncy for an out.

From there, it has been lights out for the young right-handed pitcher. Standing at 6'5" and 220 pounds, the 24-year-old throws a 100 MPH fastball and a mean slider.

Miller faced a gauntlet of great hitters in his first four games, including Ronald Acuña Jr., Bryce Harper and Anthony Rizzo. Acuña Jr. went 0-2 with a walk, Harper went 0-2 with a strikeout and a walk and Rizzo went 0-3, striking out twice.

Miller's strong start to his MLB career earned him a segment on MLB Tonight, in which former Cy Young pitcher Jake Peavy highlighted what makes the rookie so special.

"This Bobby Miller guy, at 6'5", 220 (pounds), is big, is electric, and he's got the composure and the attitude that you want to see from a top-end starter," Peavy said. "This guy starts Game 1 of a playoff series in my mind. He's been incredible."

So far, Peavy's confidence is well-earned. Miller has given up just 2 earned runs in 23 innings and struck out 7 batters in each of his last two 6-inning starts.

The Dodgers front office is over the moon about the strong start from their young pitcher — especially given the struggles of some of their other starting pitchers, namely Noah Syndergaard.

"Obviously, this is as good as we could have asked for," president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said.

After such a strong start, Miller has a great chance of solidifying his spot in the Dodgers' starting rotation for the foreseeable future.
