Throughout the entire 2023 season, All-Star Mookie Betts has been special for the Dodgers. His consistency has been impressive to watch, and it seems like he is getting better as the year goes on.

Betts recently became the favorite to win the MVP award in the National League, and if he were to end up winning, he would make some history.

He would become only the second player in the history of Major League Baseball to win the MVP award in both leagues. The Dodgers star won the award in 2018 with the Boston Red Sox and now has a chance to put his name into the record books.

His manager Dave Roberts knows that Betts wants to help the team win a title and that winning is his priority. But he also believes that Betts is determined to win the MVP award this season as well.

“I think he wants it bad,” Roberts said of Betts’ desire to win the MVP honors. “He’s driven by winning championships, but I do think that having the opportunity to be recognized as the Most Valuable Player in the National League is something that matters. I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with that.”

On the year, Betts is hitting .317 with 38 home runs and 98 runs batted in. He has been one of the main forces leading the charge for LA this past month, and it’s shown on the field.

Not many people believed that he could top his incredible year in 2018, but Betts is on his way. He is currently in the midst of the best year in his career, so it culminating with another MVP award would be special for him.

With only a month left in the season, Betts just needs to keep up this level of production, and the award may as well be his. The Dodgers rely on him each time out, and he consistently shows up for them.
