The Dodgers are ready for the postseason, earning the No. 2 seed in the MLB playoffs. They now await the winner of the NL Wild Card matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers.

While they didn't top their franchise-record 111 games won in 2022, the Dodgers did hit triple digits courtesy of a 5-2 win over the San Francisco Giants in their last game of the regular season.

After a season full of highs and lows, manager Dave Roberts was inspired by the development he has seen in his young rookies and the team as a whole.

“It’s been quite an accomplishment, with a lot of positives and a lot of growth,” Roberts said. “Just seeing how this group came together from the outset of the season … there’s been so many great moments.”

The Dodgers will likely have at least four rookies with major roles in the postseason: Bobby Miller will continue to serve as a starting pitcher while Emmet Sheehan and Ryan Pepiot will serve in more of a hybrid role. On the offense, James Outman will continue to man centerfield.

Those rookies will mesh with all the great veterans, including one of baseball's greatest players, Freddie Freeman.

He said he was not surprised that the team was able to rally and win 100 games.

“From start to finish, I feel like a lot of the outside noise was doubting us this year, not the inside, in this clubhouse in Spring Training,” Freeman said. “I don’t think winning 100 games surprises anybody in this clubhouse, but to do it when — I mean, we have one guy [currently] in the starting rotation that was in Spring Training. ... We’ve faced a lot of ups and downs, and we rose above it and got to 100 wins.”

The Dodgers will begin their quest for a World Series title Saturday, Oct. 7 against the winner of the Diamondbacks and Brewers series.
