Miguel Rojas was one of the many veteran free agent signing that the Dodgers acquired this offseason.

However, he has not been having the same impact as names like Jason Heyward, David Peralta, and J.D. Martinez have been having at the plate this year.

All three names listed have turned around and revived their careers with the Dodgers putting up great numbers and also playing good corner outfield, minus the DH Martinez.

Rojas on the other hand has been making plays on defense to make up for his lackluster year at the plate.

Even with all this, Dave Roberts still thinks that Rojas will contribute in a major way with a bat.

“He will get big hits for us this postseason,” Roberts said. “I’m certain of it. I believe it. I see it.”

After a 1-4 night in his Miami return, Rojas is only hitting .225 on the season with a poor .581 OPS as well, but August saw a little bright spot for Rojas' year at the plate.

Entering August Rojas had 242 at-bats and hit zero home runs, while Rojas is no power hitter, even from him zero at this point in the season was strange.

Rojas found some pop in the bat hitting three home runs in the month of August while putting up a .713 OPS in 72 at-bats.

Rojas as of lately has been hitting a .303 average with a .755 OPS in his last 15 days heading into Tuesday's game

All while still contributing elite shortstop defense when on the field.

If Rojas can swing a league average bat while maintaining his elite defense he will become another problem teams will have to face in the postseason.

The bottom of the order has been a great area of strength for the Dodgers recently and if they keep up their play they will be making postseason memories in Dodger blue.
