The Dodgers have won just 5 games in June and sit just a half game ahead of the third place Giants in the NL West. Meaning a loss this afternoon would put them in unfamiliar territory looking up at two teams for the club's 10th division crown in 11 years.

Since snapping a 6 game winning streak on May 16, the Dodgers have gone 12-16 and are in the midst of one of the more painful cold streaks in recent memory.

“This is as long as I can remember,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of the team's current struggles. “We’re obviously trying to find solutions. … As far as level of concern, not concerned overall. It doesn’t feel good to lose, certainly over a stretch like this. We just have to focus on playing good baseball. If we do that, it will change."

For the most part, the team has been scoring enough runs to win ballgames over the last month or so. But pitching woes keep dealing gut punch after gut punch as the bullpen ERA has ballooned to a National League worst 5.11 through 71 games.

“It’s been hard, obviously, to build any kind of momentum,” Roberts said. “There’s things that we have to do better when things aren’t going well. Little things, the execution part of things, that certainly when things aren’t going well, are going to show themselves.”

Momentum has been especially tough to gain in this current series with the Giants. On Friday, rookie pitcher Emmet Sheehan made his debut and tossed 6 no hit innings before exiting after throwing 89 pitches. He left with a 4-0 lead.

The Dodgers lost that game 5-4.

On Saturday, fellow rookie Bobby Miller pitched well for 4 innings, shutting down the Giants before he let the wheels fall off in the 5th inning. San Francisco scored 9 runs in two innings and went on to hand the Dodgers their worst home loss in more than a century.

Fans can agree with Dave Roberts that this losing doesn't feel too good. But they may disagree about the level of concern.
