Dodgers News: David Peralta Made Incredible History on Saturday Night’s Walkoff

David Peralta proved that you never know what you're going to see at a baseball game.

After the loss yesterday, let's put a better taste back in our mouths real quick. On Saturday night when David Peralta delivered in the clutch with a pinch hit walk off single, he did something that hadn't been done in more than 100 years in baseball.

David Peralta of the @Dodgers is the first MLB player to deliver a pinch-hit walkoff single with his team one out away from a shutout loss since Harry Davis did it for the Philadelphia A's on May 29, 1915 - off of Babe Ruth.

Now, mind you it's one of those incredibly specific records or historic marks we see often these days, but it's still a really neat feat.

Funny enough, that same exact scenario likely would have been an out one season ago thanks to defensive shifting.

David Peralta and the Dodgers look to get back in the win column today against the visiting Mets. Dustin May will make his fourth start of the season. New York counters with left-hander David Peterson which means Peralta will likely be on the bench once again.
