Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts Keep Setting Records in 2023
The historic season for the Dodgers' top two hitters keeps on getting better as the duo set a new record.
Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman are both in the middle of the National League MVP race. Each player is having a career-best season.
The pair have been so good that they have already accomplished something that has never been done in MLB history.
Both Betts and Freeman are tied for the second most runs in the league with 107. Only Ronald Acuna has more with 114.
Betts has put up a career-best 34 home runs so far this season and is looking to reach the 40-home run mark by the end of the season.
Freeman has also been showing off his power with 23 long balls. He has some work to do to get to his career-high of 34 home runs set in 2016.
Although he has not been known as a speed threat throughout his career, Freeman has shown off his wheels this season. He has set a career-high for stolen bases with 17 so far this season. His previous best was 13 set last season.
Betts is also showing off the speed that he's been known for in the past. Although he's focused more on his power this season, Betts has stolen 10 bases which ranks him fourth on the Dodgers.
As both players continue to build their case for an MVP, the records will keep on coming for the duo of Betts and Freeman.
