Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts Accomplish Feat That Hasn’t Been Done Since 1930s
The Dodgers have been the hottest team in the MLB for the month of August and a lot of the reason for the team's success is on the backs of Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.
The Dodgers have two of the Top-3 hitters in the National League hitting 1 and 2 in the lineup every day and when both go on hot streaks at the same time, they are unstoppable.
Mookie from the leadoff spot has been the best hitter in the MLB hitting at a .455 average with over a 1.300 OPS this month. He has won NL Player of the Week already and looks to take home the NL Player of the Month as well for August.
The hot month has springboarded ahead of Ronald Acuña Jr. in the NL MVP race, but a familiar face may be right on his tail.
Freddie Freeman has been nothing but consistently amazing the entire season currently hitting at a .338 average with a .998 OPS in over 500 at-bats with the Dodgers and playing every single game for them. Freeman has 25 home runs along with 89 RBIs as he looks to help win a World Series for the team that signed him just last year.
The Dodgers' leadoff hitters have been consistent and constant game-changers for a team that was not predicted to win their own division at the start of the year.
Sitting at 83-50 the Dodgers are well on their way to another postseason appearance and the 1-2 punch that is going for them right now will take them a long way into playoff baseball.
