Dodgers News: Gavin Lux Appreciative of Support From Fans, Teammates, Colleagues

His support system has rallied around him, providing him love and motivation during his touch recovery process.
In this story:

This week Gavin Lux and the Dodgers have been hit with a major setback after it was confirmed that the second baseman tore his ACL and will be out for the entire 2023 season. Lux injured his right knee during Monday’s spring training game.

Despite this unfortunate turn of events, Lux has been overwhelmed with the support he has received from fans and players around the league. While speaking to the media, Lux shared how much love fans have been showing him following the devastating news.

"Yeah, Dodgers fans. I felt pretty much all the love and support last night, this morning. Best fan base in the world. Can't thank them enough for all the love and support. I really appreciate it."

Along with fans, his fellow teammates have also been by his side. Lux told reporters how much his teammates have embraced him during this time.

"A ton. I feel like pretty much everybody has come up to me and give me a hug and just shows how good these guys in this clubhouse are."

As far as manager Dave Roberts, he also made sure to offer strong words of encouragement. Lux shared how much Roberts has meant to him during this process:

“Well, ya know, me and Doc had a really good conversation. He's been extremely supportive already and he definitely cares -- more than probably anybody. So I'm really appreciative of what we talked about and that's private, so it doesn't really matter, but yeah, he's been really good for me over the last 24 hours and I love him to death."

Other guys around the league have also reached out to Lux. The outpouring of support that Lux has received not only shows the strength of the Dodgers community but also highlights the support system of the league.

"A bunch of guys have. The baseball family is a little bit of a fraternity a little bit. I've gotten a lot of really kind words and support and can't thank everybody enough for that."

Lux's injury is a significant blow to the Dodgers, as he was expected to be a key player for the team in the upcoming season at the shortstop position. Lux remains optimistic and determined to come back from his injury. He clearly has a strong backing of teammates and fans that will help him remain positive and focused on his recovery.
