Dodgers News: Gavin Lux to Miss the Season with a Devastating Knee Injury

The Dodgers were dealt a mighty blow with the loss of Gavin Lux.
In this story:

The Dodgers got the worst version of the news on Gavin Lux. Manager Dave Roberts revealed that Lux had indeed torn the ACL in his right knee. The shortstop also sustained damage to his LCL in the incident.

Lux will undergo surgery on March 7th and will miss the season.

The 25-year-old hurt himself on an awkward play near the third base bag on Monday against the Padres. While attempting to get out of the way of a throw, he planted and extended his right knee the wrong way.

In his absence, Roberts said Miguel Rojas will step in at shortstop for the time being and that Mookie Betts could end up seeing some more time at second base. Doc also said to SNLA reporter Kirsten Watson on Monday that Chris Taylor would likely see more time at the position moving forward.

The news is devastating for Gavin Lux who came into spring training in the best shape of his life and ready to take the reigns at shortstop. Now, he faces an uphill battle with the hopes of returning at full strength before spring training next year.
