Dodgers News: Jason Heyward Shares Appreciation for Dave Roberts As a Manager

Roberts continues to cultivate a winning energy within the clubhouse.

Jason Heyward was acquired by the Dodgers this offseason and as he gets acclimated with the new organization, he seems to be enjoying the energy that Los Angeles and manager Dave Roberts are showing him.

While at Camelback Ranch, the veteran spoke to Claudia Gestro of the LA PostExaminer to share his thoughts on his new manager.

"Dave is awesome. He is a baseball rat, in my opinion. He loves the game, loves to talk the game. Loves to learn the game. You can see he craves that but he loves being around that energy of a ball club of a staff that, of course, is geared towards winning and trying to get better every day. But just not taking those opportunities for granted, which is special to me of course, having a new opportunity with this franchise. But, just his energy that he brings every day. He really wants the best for everyone."

Roberts has been the Dodgers' manager since 2015 and has helped lead the team to multiple National League West Titles, plus a World Series championship in 2020. Roberts’ leadership and energy reflects onto players in the clubhouse as the team aims to chase after another championship this year.

It appears that Heyward is forming a great connection with Roberts and already has strong relationships with one of his longtime friends on the team as well, Freddie Freeman.

With Heyward given a new opportunity to play in LA this season, he is well-positioned to be a part of cultivating the Dodger's winning culture.
