Dodgers News: Justin Turner Shows Photos of Recovery from Hit by Pitch
Two weeks ago when long-time Dodgers star Justin Turner got hit in the face by a pitch, the baseball world held its collective breath. The infielder fell to the ground violently and was seen bleeding on the field. He walked off under his own power and went to a local hospital where he received 16 stitches.
Luckily he avoided any further damage and was able to head home to rest and recover.
It turns out that during that recovery time, Turner kept a photo diary of the healing process. He posted a reel on his Instagram page on Monday after returning to game action for the first time in two weeks.
The images are definitely not for the squeamish.
JT went 1-2 with a walk in his return to action, showing no ill effects from the injury.
“It felt good,” Turner said after his outing. “When something like that happens my instincts are I want to get back in there as soon as possible, but obviously had to do some stuff, pass some tests and make sure I was OK to get back in there. But feels good to be back on the field.”
He might not be a Dodger anymore, but Justin Turner will always have a place in the hearts of true blue fans in LA.
