Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Says Team is Keeping Focused with NL West Clinch in Reach
As the Los Angeles Dodgers continue on with their season, the magic number to clinch the NL West is getting smaller and smaller. They will enter the playoffs as the NL West champions once again, despite many believing this was supposed to be a step-back year for the team.
It has been impressive to watch this team come together as the season has progressed. They have overcome early-year adversity, and now are one of the better teams in the entire league.
However, the team doesn’t want to get complacent. They want to make sure that they finish the job, and then enter the postseason playing the best possible baseball that they can.
Shortstop Miguel Rojas spoke on the mindset of the Dodgers as they head into the final weeks of the year.
“We’re not looking ahead,” said Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas. “We’re looking at what needs to be done today to win the game and get closer to what we want to do. We don’t want to take anything for granted and say, ‘OK, it’s going to happen.’ We need to get it done.”

LA has gotten contributions from all over the place this season, and that is how they’ve won. It has been a team-first mentality throughout and it will continue to be the rest of the way.
“Everybody in this locker room has a lot of experience, and it’s all about what we need to do every single day to get W’s, and that [magic] number will take care of itself.”

The Dodgers could clinch the division over the next week, but they know they still have work to do. They will not celebrate anything until it’s official.
“If you feel tired or you feel uncomfortable or whatever it is, we have to get it done,” Rojas said. “That’s the only thing we have on our mind right now.”

With only a few weeks left until the playoffs begin, the Dodgers just have to make sure that they fine-tune things. They have the luxury to do so, and this team has the look of a really tough out come playoff time.
