The recent Dodgers vs Padres series had some extra spice added to the headlines after the Padres opted to post a meme of Clayton Kershaw on the video board after their only win of the series.

Despite the added drama, the Dodgers won two out of the three contests and chose to take the high road. Clayton Kershaw himself was unfazed, simply stating that the Padres probably wouldn't have posted the meme if the Dodgers had won.

In game two, a fan's sign reading "Mookie Betts eats corn the long way" got attention on social media. After Sunday's win over San Diego, Betts himself praised the creativity and humor of the fan made signage.

“It was the best sign I’ve ever seen. It just said, ‘Mookie Betts eats corn the long way,' you know what I’m saying? So I thought that was very creative and shout out to who ever made that sign."

Although crude, the sign was certainly creative. While the Padres may have the upper hand with two memes, the Dodgers are leading the season series by winning two games out of three, which is the actually important thing.

“That’s just tactics to try and get under our skin, make us act out of character,” Betts added. “We got a lot of vets in here that know how to handle ourselves, no matter what the outside says or does.”

The clubs will meet again at Dodger Stadium next weekend, and it remains to be seen if there will be any more antics from either side.
