Dodgers News: Return of Injured Chris Taylor Coming into Focus for Dave Roberts
Injuries have been the name of the game for the 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers so far but despite everything, the team still finds itself right in the thick of things for a playoff spot. The team has seen players all over the roster go down to injury but they have slowly started to get some of their veterans back.
Utility player Chris Taylor seems to be the next in line to return from injury as it is being reported that he will indeed be activated for the team's return from the All-Star break.
Taylor has been out since June 16 as he has been dealing with a knee injury but his return seems imminent. This is big for the Dodgers as he provides them with major flexibility within their lineups due to his ability to play both the infield and outfield.
He has seen a down year for LA this season, hitting just .206 with 11 home runs and 26 runs batted in. But the team is hopeful that after this injured list stint, he can return and get back to his 2021 All-Star form.
If Taylor can regain his All-Star form, it would be massive for this team that has just recently started to play better. His versatility gives them a major advantage and the team could use their veteran player back.
Dave Roberts all but confirmed that we will see Taylor back in the team's opening game against the New York Mets.
“The hope is that he’ll be back with us when we start this road trip,” Roberts said. “I don’t think he needs to play more. I think that he’ll get some at-bats, some simulated things we’ll kind of put together. But as far as games, I don’t think he needs it.”

The team will use the All-Star break to get some extra rest and recovery in before the second half starts. Then it's go time for this team as they look to make another potential World Series run.
