Heading into Spring Training and the 2023 season, Tony Gonsolin was being talked about as one of the members of the Boys in Blue with the most to prove. When healthy, he has been electric on the mound, but staying healthy has been something he's clearly struggled with in the past.

Unfortunately, those problems continue to linger for the Cat Man as he faces another recovery right now for his ankle. He injured it during a workout at Camelback Ranch and it has put a halt on his plans with the team for this year. Team manager Dave Roberts has already confirmed that he won't be back anytime soon as the medical staff wants to ensure there are no setbacks in his rehab process.

Gonsolin recently secured a two-year deal with LA worth about $7 million and fans were super excited to see the versatility he would bring to their rotation. They will sadly have to hold off on seeing him suit up for a bit now. Robert spoke to the media recently and revealed Gonsolin's thoughts on his current situation (per the LA Times).

"You work all offseason to get to a certain point come into camp and then to have this setback this early, oh yeah, he's frustrated," said Roberts. "Tony talked about finishing the race or finishing the season strong, that's still in play. But I think to make sure that we nip this and don't let it linger, that's very important."

Gonsolin went 16-1 when he was on the field with the Dodgers early last season and boasted a 2.14 ERA. The bright side is that he is trying to stay positive and target a return sooner rather than later in the season. He has the support of the entire franchise as we just want to see him back and healthy.
