In this story:

The Dodgers have been very honored to have Clayton Kershaw as a part of their organization for the entirety of his career. Since being drafted in 2006 all the way until his 16th season in 2023, he's been the true embodiment of what it means to be a Dodger.

One player who's spent multiple seasons with him throughout his career is Dodgers outfielder Trayce Thompson. While Thompson made a great impact on this Dodgers ball club late last season, it wasn't his first time repping the blue.

Thompson was also with the Dodgers in 2016 and 2017, and spent a lot of time around Kershaw. At spring training, Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation asked Thompson about what it's like to play with the legend that is Clayton Kershaw. He had nothing but praise for the future Hall of Famer. You can watch the full interview here:

"He’s the same towards everybody," Thompson said. "He’s fun to be around. He brings energy to the field every single day, guys can feed off of him from all the other star players in here to a lot of the minor league guys that are going to start this year in the minor leagues."

But that wasn't all. Thompson made it clear that he feels honored to be able to call Kershaw a teammate.

"He’s a great teammate, great human being as well," Thompson said. "It’s been an honor and a privilege to be his teammate and he really just brings out the best in pretty much everybody he comes across."

The Dodgers are beyond lucky to have someone like Kershaw as the face of their franchise. Both on and off the field, he's made a tremendous impact, and will continue to do so for however much longer he wears those Dodger threads (and hopefully, after his playing career, too).
