Dodgers Notes: Dodger Stadium Myth, Injury Updates, and a Failed Player Signing
Two days in a row with a Dodger game is a tough way to live. Thankfully, the boys are back in action tonight and will face an old friend in Noah Syndergaard as they visit the Guardians in Cleveland.
If you saw the aerial images of Dodger Stadium from the weekend, you might think that it's a good thing that the Dodgers are on the road for a while, but the club's official Instagram quickly put to bed the falsified reporting that the ballpark had flooded out thanks to Hurricane Hilary. Here's a look at the evidence refuting that fake news.
Beyond the very playable Dodger Stadium, there were a number of updates to be found on Monday, including a look at one of the front office's attempts at another reclamation project, reliever Ken Giles. The MLB veteran signed a deal with LA in early June with the hope of being the next Ryan Brasier. Instead, the experiment hasn't quite gone to plan just yet with the reliever struggling at Triple-A.
In 10 appearances, he's posted a 10.61 ERA, striking out 12 and walking 13 in 9.1 innings. It was a low risk, high reward signing, so there's not much to worry about. But if you were looking for an update, there you have it.
Plus there were a few injury notes that trickled down over the weekend.
