Dodgers Notes: More Julio Urias Fallout, Fan Favorite Hits Free Agency, Austin Barnes Hurt
The Dodgers started a 6 game east coast road trip a bit distracted and reeling from the news involving pitcher Julio Urias and his domestic violence arrest over the weekend. Manager Dave Roberts addressed reporters at loanDepot Park in Miami saying was shocked and disappointed but would not offer any further comment while MLB was conducting its investigation.
In other LA headlines, old friend AJ Pollock was released by the San Francisco Giants recently and some Dodger fans are calling for a reunion. Pollock has struggled since being traded late on spring training last season and, importantly, would not be postseason eligible.
Plus, Austin Barnes was forced from Tuesday’s game after taking a bat to the side of the head. After the game, he told reporters he was feeling OK but Roberts said the club would still be exercising caution and would re-examine the veteran catcher on Wednesday.
