Dodgers Postgame: The Bullpen Was Ready, Bobby Miller And the Offense Were Not
The Los Angeles Dodgers must win three consecutive games to save their season. Despite having a superb bullpen performance, the Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-to-2.
Box Score
Bobby Miller allowed three runs in the first, once again putting the Dodgers at an insurmountable feeling deficit.
They did try to get it going in the first when Freddie Freeman had an infield single in the first and Max Muncy walked to bring up J.D. Martinez with two on and two out but struck out to leave both runners.
Miller didn’t have any command of his secondary pitches in the game with two outs in the second, Dave Roberts pulled Miller for Brusdar Graterol. He got Tommy Pham on one pitch.
The Dodgers did nothing in the second.
Graterol retired the Diamondbacks in order in the third.
The Dodgers aren’t making Zac Gallen work.
Graterol came to play in the NLDS and was brilliant in his 2 innings. He walked the final batter he faced, and gave way to Ryan Brasier. But Will Smith threw out a runner trying to steal a base ending a D-Back threat.
The Dodgers got off the floor when Martinez blasted a solo home run in the fourth.
Ryan Brasier was perfect in the fifth and allowed a solo home run in the sixth.
With one out in the fifth, James Outman walked, Miguel Rojas singled, Mookie Betts hit into a force play, but Freeman struck out.
Anther wasted opportunity.
Muncy and Martinez singled in the sixth to kick out Gallen. Chris Taylor walked to load the bases. Kiké Hernàndez drove in a run with an infield single. Outman struck out. Kolten Wong couldn’t do anything while pinch-hitting for Rojas.

Kelly began the eighth with a walk but got 2 outs in the eighth.
