Dodgers Promotions: LA's Commemorative Kobe Bryant Jersey Revealed

The jersey will be given out later this season.

If there's one thing the Los Angeles Dodgers are known for besides their play on the diamond, their promotional nights rank right up there.

The team's known for quality giveaways throughout the season, and those can range from the usual bobblehead nights, jersey giveaways, and, on occasion, nights that celebrate teams in the Los Angeles area.

The Los Angeles Kings, LAFC, UCLA and USC are some of the teams that have been given their own nights at Dodger Stadium, and the organization will be holding a Lakers Night later this season, too.

As part of the festivities, a commemorative Kobe Bryant jersey will be distributed when the Dodgers play the Atlanta Braves on September 1st.

Here's your first look at the jersey, courtesy of MLB Life on Twitter.

The jersey combines the Dodgers and Lakers all into one, with purple and gold stripes along the sleeves, each of Bryant's Laker jersey numbers on this jersey, and the classic Dodgers script font along the front.

It's fitting that the Dodgers are commemorating Kobe Bryant as part of Lakers Night.

Bryant quickly became a beloved figure in Los Angeles, as he won five championships over his 20 seasons with the Lakers. Just three of his most memorable accomplishments are when he beat the Boston Celtics in the 2010 NBA Finals, scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in 2006, and when he scored 60 points in his final NBA game on April 13, 2016.

All of that led to Bryant being one of the greatest Lakers in the franchise's storied history, and he was posthumously inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.

It's definitely a touching tribute by the Dodgers to honor one of the most legendary athletes in the city's great history.

You can get tickets to Lakers Night here, and you can take home this commemorative jersey when you watch the Dodgers play the Braves down the homestretch of the season.
