Dodgers Recall Andre Jackson, Miller on Bereavement Leave
Los Angeles made a roster move ahead of their game with the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. They announced that relief pitcher Shelby Miller was being placed on the bereavement leave list and that he will be away from the team for at least the rest of the teams road trip.
In a related move, they recalled pitcher Andre Jackson from Triple-A to take his place. This is now the third time that Jackson has been recalled and he will get another chance to showcase what he can do.
Jackson hasn't been great for either Los Angeles or Oklahoma City this season. But he remains a decent option for the club at this time. With Oklahoma City, he has an ERA at 5.48 over 23 innings of use. It hasn’t been much better in the big leagues as he holds an ERA of 7.98 over 14.2 innings with the Dodgers.
He has a career ERA of 4.50 and his time with the Dodgers this season has been the worst of his young career.
Miller looks to rejoin the club on Tuesday when they face the White Sox at Dodger Stadium. The veteran has been solid for the team, posting a 2.57 ERA this season.
