Dodgers Release Statement on Julio Urias Being Placed on Administrative Leave
On Wednesday afternoon, MLB announced that Dodgers starter Julio Urias would be placed on paid administrative leave for the foreseeable future.
Upon release of the news, the team released their own statement on the situation.
Today, Major League Baseball announced that Julio Urías has been placed on administrative leave until further notice while an investigation is being conducted, per the sport's joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy with the Major League Baseball lavers Association.
The Dodgers take all allegations of the kind in this case very seriously, and we do not condone or excuse anv acts of domestic violence. We are fully cooperating with MLB's investigation and support MLB's and the Commissioner's enforcement of the policy. The Dodgers will have no further comment at this time.
As has been documented in the days since, Urias was arrested on felony charges of domestic violence on Sunday night with news emerging on the incident on Monday.
With him being place on administrative leave, the team also removed his bobblehead night which was scheduled for September 21.
