The Dodgers made three headlines on Saturday night. They won their second straight game. Clayton Kershaw is still phenomenal in year 16. And this Wednesday will be the major league debut of top pitching prospect Gavin Stone.

Fabian Ardaya was among those to confirm the report.

After a slow start to the season at Triple-A, Stone has been on a roll. And he's been downright dominant in his last two starts, combining to strike out 15 batters over 9.2 innings pitched. Over those two starts he's allowed just 3 hits and 1 earned run.

Details on the call up are still scarce, but it seems like Stone is making a spot start to give the starting rotation a little reset. The Dodgers just passed the one month mark into the 2023 season and are finishing a stretch of 19 games in 20 days.

For those unfamiliar with Gavin Stone, he's the number 4 prospect in the Dodgers' farm system and 49th in all of baseball, per MLB Pipeline. He was the organization's minor league pitcher of the year in 2022 and has developed into a bona fide future star in the league.

His pitch mix features a fastball and slider, but where he'll really make his money is with the changeup, a pitch he developed after being drafted by the Dodgers in the 5th round of the 2020 MLB draft.

We may just see Stone for one game, but it's the start of something that could be special.

Note: Stone is not currently on the 40-man roster but the Dodgers do have one spot open at the moment. They could have one more if they DFA someone like Austin Wynns or Luke Williams.
