Dodgers Rumors: MLB Insider Expects Julio Urias to Get Lengthy Suspension, Miss 2024 Season
As we head into the offseason for the Dodgers, there have been few updates on the entire Julio Urias legal situation, and we are still waiting to see what happens. The former Dodgers pitcher was placed on administrative leave while being under investigation for a domestic violence arrest in September.
He reportedly assaulted a woman after a local sporting event and both law enforcement and Major League Baseball have been looking into the allegations on Urias. Weeks after the arrest, Urias didn’t show up for his scheduled court hearing in LA, but he still has not been officially charged with a crime. However, it seems that Major League Baseball will likely still serve him a major punishment for this incident.
MLB insider Jim Bowden of The Athletic is predicting that Urias will receive a massive suspension for his off-the-field troubles.
“Julio Urías of the Dodgers and Wander Franco of the Rays receive lengthy suspensions following reviews of their respective cases that make both ineligible to play major-league baseball in 2024.”
Per Jim Bowden of The Athletic
While no crime has been charged against Urias yet, Major League Baseball may still hand down their suspension. Urias violated the domestic violence policy of the league for the second time, and they haven't typically been kind to those who have done so in the past.
His future in baseball is up in the air at this time, but his time with the Dodgers seems to be over. The team has made its position clear on Urias since the arrest took place, and the team even removed memorabilia and depictions of Urias all around Dodger Stadium.
