Dodgers Rumors: Writer Links LA to Former All-Star Pitcher as Trade Deadline Nears
With the deadline less than 12 days away, trade season is finally here, and the Dodgers are going to have to start figuring out what moves they want to make.
We all saw the horrid month of June where the Dodgers bullpen struggled and blew multiple games, but since July and the All-Star break, LA's pitching has been one of baseball's best.
Despite their recent form, the Dodgers are middle of the pack when it comes to ERA ranks (4.46 ERA).
That's why MLB.com's Mark Feinsand made a suggestion for them to pursue Chicago White Sox RHP, Lucas Giolito.
With a 6-6 win-loss record on the year that includes a 3.96 ERA, 122 strikeouts and a 1.20 WHIP in 116 innings, Giolito is a hot man on the trade market.
The former All-Star did have an upbringing in North Hollywood, where he was drafted out of Harvard-Westlake High School by the Washington Nationals in 2012.
Among some of his White Sox teammates, Giolito is a heavy trade target across the league due to his current contract situation with Chicago.
Entering the final year of his contract with the White Sox, he is currently making around $10.4 million.
With great pitching mechanics and a veteran presence needed in the rotation, Lucas Giolito is nothing short of a great fit for the Dodgers - and assuming the Dodgers would pursue him, his trial run with the Dodgers would need to be good enough for him to want to stay for many more years to come.
