Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani had quite the year in his first season with the team. But Ohtani just made the biggest announcement yet of 2024.

Ohtani shared with fans on his social media that he and his wife, Mamiko, are expecting a baby.

"Can't wait for the little rookie to join our family soon," Ohtani wrote on Instagram.

Ohtani had a remarkable 2024 season with the Dodgers. Although Ohtani didn't make his two-way debut in Dodger blue, he performed at the highest level as the team's designated hitter.

Ohtani put on one of the best offensive performances in the history of baseball. Beyond setting career-highs in almost every offensive category, Ohtani opened the 50 home runs, 50 stolen bases club. Ohtani won his first World Series ring with the Dodgers in his first trip to the postseason.

The 2024 season was wrapped up with Ohtani being awarded the NL MVP. Ohtani received all 30 first-place votes and was the unanimous winner. He became the first exclusive designated hitter to win the award.

Aside from MVP and World Series Champion, Ohtani can now add a new name to the list: Dad.
