Not what you want to see in spring training.

Dodgers star third baseman Max Muncy left Wednesday's Cactus League game early after being hit on the hand by a pitch.

Muncy was hit in the top of the first inning, but was able to stay in the game to run the bases and play defense at third.

However, when his spot in the lineup came up in the fourth inning, Muncy was replaced by Austin Gauthier.

After the game, Muncy went to get X-Rays on his left hand.

The Dodgers wrapped Muncy's hand to allow him to remain in the game to play defense. However, they didn't want him taking another at-bat.

It is spring training, so it makes sense to proceed with caution. But hopefully the X-Rays come back negative, and Muncy isn't forced to miss much time, if any at all.

UPDATE: The Dodgers say Max Muncy suffered a left hand contusion and is considered day-to-day. Dave Roberts clarified that Muncy didn't undergo X-Rays on Wednesday, and will have them on Thursday.
