Dodgers vs National Rain Delay: What Time Will the Game Start?

The Dodgers and Nationals endure rain delays all weekend.

The Dodgers and Nationals game in Washington DC is in a rain delay. Again. Most of the content in this article are from Saturday. Scroll to the bottom to see updates for Sunday's rain delay.

The game start time was officially pushed back about 30 minutes before first pitch and since then the updates have been scarce.

Most recently, reporters at Nationals Park shared images from the press box showing an alter for fans to take cover at the stadium as more storms were making their way into the vicinity.

Washington DC is currently in a severe thunderstorm watch, which is expected to remain until late into the evening on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 3:30 PM PT, the game is still expected to be played today. However, if MLB decides to postpone the contest, the two clubs may be forced to squeeze in a doubleheader on Sunday. The series finale is scheduled for 10:35 am PDT and the Dodgers are supposed to fly across the country immediately after the game as the club welcomes the San Diego Padres for a three game series starting on Monday.

In other words, a doubleheader is not ideal.

UPDATE (Saturday)

We have a game time! First pitch is now tentatively set for 5:15 PM PT.

UPDATE (Sunday)

The Dodgers face another rain delay in DC with play being suspended in the top of the 5th inning with bases loaded, one out, and Austin Barnes at the plate in a 2-2 count.

The delay isn't expected to last exceptionally long.

UPDATE II (Sunday)

The game will restart at 1:10 PM PT.
