Dodgers Won’t Make Major Organizational Changes This Offseason, Says Andrew Friedman

Running it back for better or worse.

Dodgers front office executive Andrew Friedman talked with reporters in his yearly end-of-season press conference on Tuesday.

Speculation about Dave Roberts' job status emerged after another disappointing early playoff exit but Friedman indicated that the manager's job was safe for 2024.

Friedman took accountability throughout his press conference and mentioned that he didn't do enough on his end to get the Dodgers in position to win the championship this season.

“If this were one person or a small collection of people (responsible), in my estimation, then we would make changes. We just wouldn’t do it to say, ‘Look, we made changes,’ and try to cover up what has happened instead,” Friedman said. “We have a lot of extremely disappointed, angry people who are all going to work really hard together to avoid being in this position next year. And so with the talent with how much they care, their work ethic, how much they care about these fans and doing everything we can to win a championship in 2024, it felt like making a change would be for the sake of it instead of actually bringing better and more talented people.”

Arizona swept aside any idea of a championship parade in Los Angeles and left the Boys in Blue with plenty of questions that Friedman addressed.

Starting pitching doomed the Dodgers in each of their three playoff losses after the team's rotation hobbled to the finish line to end the regular season.

LA's bullpen limited the damage in Games 2 and 3 of the NLDS but their lackluster offense could not push more than two runs across in each of their three losses.

Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman shoulder much of that blame as the MVP candidates couldn't get one hit out of the infield all series long combined.

Friedman has his work cut out for him as LA is choosing to retain much of their coaching and front office staffs for yet another year.

The definition of insanity is repeating similar processes and expecting similar results so it'll be up to the Dodgers' front office face to change recent narratives around the franchise.
