Former MLB outfielder Josh Reddick announced his retirement from baseball recently. The 36-year-old last played in the league back in 2021, so it's more of a formality than a shock.

In a post on Instagram, he gave a shout-out to the Dodgers and alluded to the strained relationship with the fanbase following his long history of trolling online about the Houston Astros' illegitimate World Series win over LA in 2017.

Here's what Reddick had to say.

"... Thank you to the Los Angeles Dodgers for selecting me to experience such a historic franchise and stadium as well as the playoff experience again. The run we made in 2016 was special. I know we don't get along nowadays but I'm grateful for my time spent in Dodger blue."

Reddick came to the Dodgers in a trade with the Oakland A's at the 2016 deadline. He took over in right field for LA after Yasiel Puig was demoted to Triple-A but his time in blue was mixed. He struggled at the plate but brought an energy to the clubhouse with his rally speedo and WWE-style player of the game belt. He did have some success in the postseason for the Dodgers that October and parlayed that into a nice contract with the Astros.

In Houston in 2017, he magically had the best year of his career at the plate and it just so happened to coincide with the Astros' sign-stealing era.

Altogether, Reddick played for five big league teams over the course of his 13-year career. He hangs up the spikes with 146 home runs, 575 runs batted in, and a lifetime .262 batting average.
