Former Dodgers Pitcher Pens Heartfelt Thank You Note Following Trade at Deadline

It was a nice thank you message.

The Dodgers made a slew of trades at this year's deadline, including multiple moves that shipped some relievers off for cash.

One of those relievers was LHP Justin Bruihl, who was traded in the division to the Colorado Rockies.

Bruihl was designated for assignment just ahead of the deadline, and they ended up getting some cash for him by sending him to Colorado.

While initially Bruihl appeared unhappy with the DFA via a social media post on Twitter, after the trade, he decided to post a much nicer thank you message on Instagram to thank the Dodgers for the last six years with the organization.

"To the @dodgers organization and the city of LA… thank you for taking a young kid in and making his dreams come true! The last 6 years with this organization have been the best years of my life. I can’t thank all the fans, coaches, staff and teammates enough for their support. Just wanted to share some of my best memories over the last couple years. Can’t wait for what’s to come with the @rockies"

Bruihl spent six seasons in the Dodgers organizations, and parts of the last three years with Los Angeles at the MLB level.

He appeared in a total of 65 games with the Dodgers, sporting a solid 3.65 ERA in 66.2 innings.

His 2023, however, was the worst of the three, as he had a 4.07 ERA in 24.1 innings, before being DFA'd.

He's yet to play with Colorado at the MLB level, but has made one appearance in Triple-A, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings.

Best of luck in Colorado, Justin!
