Lakers Star LeBron James Getting Inspiration from Dodgers Miguel Rojas This Season
One of the funnier moments from the Dodgers season came from LA’s appearance on Sunday Night Baseball in late September against the San Francisco Giants. They had veteran infielder Miguel Rojas mic’d up while on the field, and it led to some hilarious interactions.
While making a routine fielding play, Rojas apologized to the broadcast booth in the middle of talking to them so he could get the guy out.
This led to Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James tweeting out that he hoped to do more mic’d up moments throughout the season. It seems that James was inspired by what Rojas did and wanted to do the same.
Heading into their second In-Season Tournament game against the Memphis Grizzlies, James took that inspiration. He was mic’d up for the game, making good on what he said he wanted to do this year.
James seems to be enjoying himself this season, and just going with the flow of everything. He is still determined to win at the highest level, but he also likely is feeling the weight of a possible retirement coming down the line.
His doing things like this makes the game even more fun for himself and the fans as well. It gives us a glimpse into what happens on the court, and what is being said also.
Luckily, the Lakers put together their best game of the season against Memphis while he was mic’d up, giving plenty of fun content. It was a great game all around, and it saw LA finally dominate a game from start to finish.
They had struggled so often throughout the season, so it was a nice change of pace to see. Rojas gave James this idea, and it’s always interesting when inspiration can strike.
The LA teams typically find a way to work together to support one another, and in a way, this is them doing that again. Hopefully, we can see more mic’d up moments from both teams going forward.
