One player who the Los Angeles Dodgers are very excited to welcome back to the team next season is infielder Gavin Lux. Lux missed the entire 2023 season while recovering from an ACL tear that he suffered in Spring Training.

He is ready to jump back into the mix and is slated to take over the starting shortstop position for Los Angeles. Lux was expected to be the shortstop for L.A. last season before his injury.

While there is always a concern whenever a player comes back from a tough injury, the Dodgers' front office believes that Lux will be able to return to form. Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes made an appearance on "The Show" podcast and provided an update on the status of Lux this offseason.

“Luxy is progressing very well,” Gomes said, “so he’s on track to go out and be ready to be full go come Opening Day.”

The former top prospect is still viewed very highly in the Dodgers organization. They believe in his ability, and he is determined to show them that he belongs as the shortstop of this team.

With all of the firepower across the Dodgers roster this season, Lux doesn't have to do anything over the top. He just needs to ease back into form and play his game.

“Gavin’s on pace to be full go and looking really good and feeling good. Still have Miggy behind him who’s gonna play a bunch all over the infield.”

In his last season, Lux slashed .276/.346/.745 with six home runs and 42 runs batted in over 129 games. His bat-to-bat skills showed improvement, and his speed helped him when getting on base.

If Lux can remain healthy this season, it will be a major win for the Dodgers. The sky is the limit for the kid, and the Dodgers are banking on his successful return.
